Qualifications: Ms. Voigt has qualified for and was certified in Medical Staff Science administered by the National Association of Medical Staff Services in 1989 as a Certified Professional, Medical Services Management (CPMSM). She received her second certification in 1999 as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Ms. Voigt has 22 years of credentialing experience with 10 years at a Washington University Hospital performing all functions relating to the credentialing & reappointment process, including malpractice lawsuit review, medical staff privileges, as well as supervision and consulting in areas of operation pertaining to medical staff services. She has 8 years experience working directly in the managed care field at a Fortune 50 corporation's Employee Assistance Program where she designed credentialing plans, and policies & procedures with application of same in accordance to State & National standards. She successfully negotiated contracts & rates with a 1000 member, nation-wide provider network. For the past 8 years, Ms. Voigt has been assisting attorneys full-time with cases regarding credentialing and medical staff issues. To date, only 2 of her cases have gone to trial, the rest have settled out of court after providing affidavits, written reports, or being deposed by opposing counsel. She still actively participates in the credentialing and recredentialing processes for a stand-alone cardiac cath lab in St. Louis. Ms. Voigt has held positions as President and Vice President of the Missouri State Chapter of the National Association of Medical Staff Services. She is a current member of the National, State and Local Associations of Medical Staff Services. A Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and Certified Professional, Medical Services Managment (CPMSM) is a medical staff professional who has qualified for and passed the National Certification Examinations. CPMSMs/CPCS are required to maintain certification by obtaining 30 hours of continuing education credit every three years following certification. This assures the CPMSM/CPCS remains abreast of the rapid changes in the healthcare field. Ms. Voigt has the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to efficiently assist the legal profession relating to medical staff professionals, credentialing, privileging, etc. As a professional CPMSM/CPCS, Ms. Voigt also understands managed care and medical staff laws, their implications on current medical practice and their impact on the credentialing procedures. Ms. Voigt is a valuable resource for current knowledge of medical credentials, staff organization, Medical Staff bylaws, Medical Staff functions required by JCAHO, NCQA, AOA, State Regulatory Agencies, and other matters pertinent to the medical profession.
